We all need a place where we can be renewed, refreshed, and rejuvenated on a regular basis. In Part 1 of the series, we discussed the reality that renewal is ours right now and right where we need it. We delved into some powerful life-giving scriptures to support it. You will want to read this first.
In this blog I will go into some practical keys for bringing renewal, strengthening, and upgrades into your life. I will support those steps with life-giving scripture. Ready to go? I know I am!
Here are the keys:
Key #1:
We can remind ourselves that all renewing and strengthening comes from one Source: God Himself. He is happy when we partake of Him.
Key #2:
We can remind ourselves that we are not separate from God in any way. This is by His choice and His work before creation and in the cross – not our works.
Key #3:
We are to remind ourselves that we are completely new, clean, and without spot or blemish. We are powerful and beautiful and utterly accepted and chosen by the Father. This reality helps us to receive boldly.
Key #4:
We can look at unseen Truth in the spiritual realm that is meant to manifest in the seen realm around us, right now.
Key #5:
We can meditate on positive things, full of possibility, and what we can build upon.
Key #6:
We can keep looking at Jesus and rest in His faith while standing for refreshing and renewal to be made tangible in the physical realm.
Key #7:
We get to receive Holy Spirit’s help to convince us of what is ours in being renewed, strengthened and upgraded – to embrace it, and not let it go.
Key #8:
We get to practice spending time communing with the Lover of our souls, practicing His presence – there is massive renewal in God’s Presence!
Key #9:
We get to be led by the Spirit with how to practically be refreshed, restored, rejuvenated and renewed during the season we are in. (For example, listening and responding when He invites us to stay in for the night, or when He invites us to eat clean for the day).
I will unpack these. Many are interrelated and these can be implemented in any order. Some you may need to focus on more than others.
Key #1: God is the Source of Everything:
Being renewed, restored and upgraded means you will only find what you need from the REAL source – not counterfeits. An idol is a counterfeit and will leave you used, abused and kicked to the curb, while luring you back for more. Like Coke Classic – Father God/Jesus/Holy Spirit Are the REAL thing – accept no substitutes!
Colossians 1:16-17 (KJV) says:
16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
Colossians 1:19-20 (TPT) says all things are restored back to Him:
19 For God is satisfied to have all his fullness[a] dwelling in Christ. 20 And by the blood of his cross, everything in heaven and earth is brought back to himself—back to its original intent, restored to innocence again![b]
Moreover, John 15:5 says that apart from Him we can do nothing, but as we abide in Him we bear MUCH fruit!
These blessings are both spiritual and physical! We don’t want to get out of balance and shun physical natural blessings. Indeed, God has richly given us all things to enjoy (1 Timothy 6:17). Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is have a good meal, give it to God, and go to bed. We are to enjoy blessings deposited in the world. Instead of putting our ultimate trust and source in creation, we trust and abide in the Creator, Love, Himself!
Key #2: You are One with the Source:
Our union with Christ has been established by the championship of the Godhead alone!
Ephesians 1:4 (TPT) says:
4 And he chose us to be his very own, joining us to himself even before he laid the foundation of the universe![a] Because of his great love, he ordained us, so that we would be seen as holy in his eyes with an unstained innocence.
Moreover Galatians 2:20 (TPT) says:
20 “My old identity has been co-crucified with Messiah and no longer lives; for the nails of his cross crucified me with him. And now the essence of this new life is no longer mine, for the Anointed One lives his life through me—we live in union as one! My new life is empowered by the faith of the Son of God who loves me so much that he gave himself for me, and dispenses his life into mine![a]
You don’t go in and out of Christ.
You are one with Him on your good days and bad days. It is the performance of Christ, not your performance, that accomplished this.
We do not have to try to get more of Christ. He is all in and holding nothing back!
The word of God says that we are sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency (Philippians 4:12-13). We are co-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17).
We are not trying to get hooked up with the Source. We are awakening to the Truth that we already are! We don’t have to convince God to be good to us – goodness is His nature. We are crowned with loving-kindness and tender mercy (Psalm 103:4). God is Love and we are one with Love (2 John 4:8,16). No one is excluded as He died for the entire world (1 John 2:2). You’re “in”!
Key #3: We Are Holy and Are Just Like Jesus
We are clean and holy and righteous, even if our behavior sucks. That is because this is who we were made to be before we ever were sent to the earth (Ephesians 1:4). Christ made us His righteousness (1 Corinthian 5:21).
1 John 4:17 (AMP)
17 In this [union and fellowship with Him], love is completed and perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment [with assurance and boldness to face Him]; because as He is, so are we in this world.
Moreover, Ephesians 4:22-24 (KJV) says:
23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
We can renew or renovate our minds to the truth that we do not have a sin nature. We can put on or, as the Greek says, endyō, which means “sink into”, the reality that we are a complete innocent new creation. We are defined by who we are not what we do!
Colossians 3:10 and 2 Corinthians 5;17 say that we already have become the new creation.
Our cleanness is foundational for us to receive from God. 1 John 3:21 (KJV) says:
21 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.
We can run boldly to Him in our consciousness (Hebrews 4:16) to obtain everything provided by His grace – including renewal!!
