9 Keys to Experience Greater Renewal / Part 3

We all need a place where we can be renewed, refreshed, and rejuvenated on a regular basis. In Part 1 and 2 of the series, we discussed the reality that renewal is ours right now and right where we need it. We also unpacked the first 3 keys to experience greater renewal. You will want to read these first before proceeding to Part 3.

In today’s blog I will go into more practical keys for bringing renewal, strengthening, and upgrades into your life. To help you keep track, below are all the keys:

 Key #1:

We can remind ourselves that all renewing and strengthening comes from one Source: God Himself. He is happy when we partake of Him.

Key #2:

We can remind ourselves that we are not separate from God in any way. This is by His choice and His work before creation and in the cross – not our works.

Key #3:

We are to remind ourselves that we are completely new, clean, and without spot or blemish. We are powerful and beautiful and utterly accepted and chosen by the Father. This reality helps us to receive boldly.

Key #4:

We can look at unseen Truth in the spiritual realm that is meant to manifest in the seen realm around us, right now.

Key #5:

We can meditate on positive things, full of possibility, and what we can build upon.

Key #6:

We can keep looking at Jesus and rest in His faith while standing for refreshing and renewal to be made tangible in the physical realm.

Key #7:

We get to receive Holy Spirit’s help to convince us of what is ours in being renewed, strengthened and upgraded – to embrace it, and not let it go.

Key #8:

We get to practice spending time communing with the Lover of our souls, practicing His presence – there is massive renewal in God’s Presence!

Key #9:

We get to be led by the Spirit with how to practically be refreshed, restored, rejuvenated and renewed during the season we are in. (For example, listening and responding when He invites us to stay in for the night, or when He invites us to eat clean for the day).

To remind you, many of these are interrelated and they can be implemented in any order. Some you may need to focus on more than others.

We will pick up where we left off, with Key #4.

Key #4: Looking at the Unseen Realm Brings the Unseen Realm

I love 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 (NKJV) which says:

17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

First of all, from this passage, we see that the natural realm (the realm present around us today) is temporary and subject to change. We can be renewed by connecting with the eternal unseen realm that swamps out the fallenness of the world.

 Ephesians 1:18 -19a (TPT) says:

18 I pray that the light of God will illuminate the eyes of your imagination,[b] flooding you with light, until you experience the full revelation of the hope of his calling[c]—that is, the wealth of God’s glorious inheritances that he finds in us, his holy ones!

19 I pray that you will continually experience the immeasurable greatness of God’s power made available to you through faith.

Renewal, strengthening, and upgrades come from Holy Spirit helping open our eyes to the unseen realm. Here we experience the hope of God’s calling and the treasures inside us, as well as the treasures we are to Him. We are restored, healed, whole and delivered!

Key #5: Meditate on Positive things, Possibility, and What You Can Build Upon

Looking with spiritual sight, which is our imagination, is closely linked with what we think or meditate on.

What we think/meditate upon is crucial. As a man thinks in his heart, so is he (Proverbs 23:7). This means how we think influences how we behave. Blessing is released from godly mediation (Psalms 1:1-3, Joshua 1:8). Transformation comes because godly meditation renews the mind (Romans 12:2). Meditating upon the gifts we have inside us releases them (1 Timothy 4:14-16). Our faith becomes effective by meditating and acknowledging every gift we have inside us (Philemon 1:6). Since we are talking about renewal, strengthening and upgrades, Philippians 4:8-9 (NKJV) specifically outlines how to enter the peace that restores so beautifully:

8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. 9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.

Peace means that God provides everything for our highest good. Peace renews, peace strengthens and brings upgrades. But we don’t just have peace – we have the God of peace with us – and He is one with us!

So I like to say if it is not positive, if it does not have possibility, and you can’t build on it… don’t meditate on it.

Key #6: Looking at Jesus, Using His Faith

In Keys #4 and #5 we discussed that our focus is critical to experiencing renewal, strengthening and upgrades. In Key #6, we find the ultimate treasure to focus our attention and affection: Christ Himself. Hebrews 12:2a (TPT) says:

2 We look away from the natural realm and we fasten our gaze onto Jesus who birthed faith within us and who leads us forward into faith’s perfection.

Notice – to look at Jesus, we have to choose to look away from the natural realm first. What things are wearing you down, sapping your energy, and compromising your well-being? Those things may be in your face and very loud, but the author of Hebrews admonishes us to look away from them and fasten our gaze on Jesus. What is the result? Faith is birthed. It is the faith of Christ! We get to use His faith. And how confident do you think He is in what He accomplished on the cross for humanity?

Faith is your connecting point for renewal and every promise and blessing you have in Christ. So, keep looking away from all the lack and problems, and keep looking into the exquisite face of Christ!

  1. Honey, God is the most trustworthy Person in the universe and absolutely knows what He is doing. He is absolutely for you and the healing process. We can talk more about this gut feeling, which I think is actually a memory. God already told you that nothing bad was going to happen. But I know this is hard. We can talk more privately.
