God is Love. The Word also says that God is everywhere (omnipresent) and knows all things (omniscient). To be disappointed means that one has to have an expectation that is frustrated.
God is the Answer Greater than the Problem
The Word says that Christ as the Lamb slain before the foundation of the world. (Rev. 5:6,12 & Rev. 13:8) What does that mean? It means that Love took care of the fall of the human race in a spiritual dimension transcending time before the human race fell in the construct of time. He then walked it out in the flesh on earth 2000 years ago. Truly the big “A” answer in the Person of Christ came before the little (relatively speaking) “p” problem of the fall of the human race.
God Cannot Be Disappointed
The reconciliation of the human race happened before the foundation of the world and in the flesh on the cross. So, Love could not be disappointed in a fallen human race He knew would fall.
2 Corinthians 5:18-19 says:
18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. (NIV)
God’s Good Will Towards You
Understand the word says that none of us were ever considered by God to be His enemy. However, people chose and still choose to look at God as if He is their enemy. But even with that, it was only their minds. Let’s take a look at Colossians 1:21-22:
21 Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. 22 But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation… (NIV)
The attitude of God toward the human race is reflected in Luke 2:14:
14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. (KJV, emphasis added)
God cannot be disappointed, because He is Love.
Romans 5:5 says:
5 Such hope never disappoints or deludes or shames us, for God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit Who has been given to us. (AMPC)
Moreover, the word says in 1 Corinthians 13:7-8 that,
7 Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening]. 8 Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end]. (AMPC)
Love is Not Disappointed
God knew what He was getting and what He was getting into before time. He knew what He was getting when He got the human race – and when He got you before time. And with ALL THAT, He was UNWILLING to do without the human race. He was UNWILLING to do without you! He sees who you truly are and believes the best as He is conforming you into His image.
We may be disappointed with ourselves or others, but let’s not project that on God. Love is not disappointed and He is not disappointed in you or any of His kids! He’s got us covered. He is thrilled with who you are and there to help you be all He made you to be!
