Have you ever opened the refrigerator or the cabinet looking for something to satisfy you, only to find yourself standing in disappointment because nothing looked good?Â
There’s a hunger in every human being for something bigger than ourselves – for Someone bigger than ourselves. We’re hungry for love. We’re hungry for significance. We’re hungry for peace. We’re hungry for pain relief. We’re hungry for a lot of things.Â
The promise of religion is that if you just do ______ things, you’ll find _____.
The problem is that it’s never enough – there are always more demands and a higher bar to reach.
It is a treadmill that so many well-meaning people have found themselves on.Â
God’s Invitation
God is so kind – He doesn’t want us worn out and frustrated. He asks,Â
Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare. (Isaiah 55:2, NIV)
God wants you satisfied and a little dab won’t do.Â
God Is a God of AbundanceÂ
Not only does He want you to eat what is good, and what is rich and delightful, He wants you to eat in abundance.
Joel 2:19, 24-26 (AMPC) says:Â Â
19 The Lord replied to them: “I am sending you grain, new wine and olive oil, enough to satisfy you fully; never again will I make you an object of scorn to the nations.
24 And the [threshing] floors shall be full of grain and the vats shall overflow with juice [of the grape] and oil.
25 And I will restore or replace for you the years that the locust has eaten—the hopping locust, the stripping locust, and the crawling locust, My great army which I sent among you.
26 And you shall eat in plenty and be satisfied and praise the name of the Lord, your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you. And My people shall never be put to shame.Â
God of Longevity and Renewed YouthÂ
God’s heart is for a long, satisfying life where the fullness of salvation (saved, healed and delivered) is shown.
With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation. (Psalm 91:16, NKJV)Â
God wants to satisfy us and this also carries with it satisfying our godly desires so that our youth is renewed. Â
…who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. (Psalm 103:5, NIV)Â
This is God’s youth renewal program!
Well-Watered Garden
God’s ability to satisfy is circumstance resistant. He wants happy, thriving kids!Â
The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail. (Isaiah 58:11, NIV))Â
 The Ultimate Satisfaction
God is the ultimate satisfaction.
Song of Solomon 7:2 (TPT) says:Â
Out of your innermost being is flowing the fullness of my Spirit—never failing to satisfy.Â
And He richly and ceaselessly give us all things to enjoy (1 Timothy 6:17, AMP)!
17 As for the rich in this present world, instruct them not to be conceited and arrogant, nor to set their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly and ceaselessly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.Â
So, don’t settle – let Love nourish and satisfy you!
