Friday Morning Conversations, Interview by Dr. Bill Hanshew: Provoked by Promise Pt. 3

January 24 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am MST

Free

“FRIDAY MORNING CONVERSATIONS” (01-24-25) Guest: Dr. Catherine Toon Topic: “PROVOKED BY PROMISE!” ● This is part 3 of our conversation called, “PROVOKED BY PROMISE!” In part 2 of this series titled “PROVOKED BY PROMISE,” we looked point #2) Colossians 1:20 which inspired a conversation that led us into a deep discussion. ● Colossians 1:20 (Mirror) says, “He initiated the reconciliation of all things to himself. Through the blood of the cross God restored the original harmony. His reign of peace now extends to every visible thing upon the earth as well as those invisible things which are in the 1heavenly realm.” [Du Toit, Francois. Mirror Study Bible (p. 740). Kindle Edition.] ● Christ as God initiated the reconciliation of all things to Himself. And in-spite of God being provoked by His promises, sometimes people are distracted from “promise” simply because of the “separation-anxiety” mankind has dealt with within their own thoughts. ● #3) Romans 8:19-21 (TPT) “19 The entire universe is standing on tiptoe, yearning to see the unveiling of God’s glorious sons and daughters! 20 For against its will the universe itself has had to endure the empty futility resulting from the consequences of human sin. But now, with eager expectation, 21 all creation longs for freedom from its slavery to decay and to experience with us the wonderful freedom coming to God’s children.” ● Pertaining to verse 19, a footnote says, “The Greek word used here means “intense anticipation,” or “anxiously anticipating what is about to happen” (with an outstretched neck). The last part of verse 19, this could be rendered as, “the manifestation of the sons of God.” ● The obvious that mankind in general is frustrated with life and more, of which the term “futility” could read “the purposelessness” or “the frustration” or the “chaos” within mankind. ● So much to listen to, please watch.
