How many of us have a nagging sense that we are lacking?
So many of us are frustrated with ourselves. We feel as if we constantly fall short! But this is not what God says about us.
We Are Complete in Christ
Colossians 2:10-11 says:
10 and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority; 11 and in Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ… (NASB)
What was circumcised was the flesh (in the negative sense of the word), the old man or sin nature. And realize that with circumcision (of our hearts or in the natural), what is removed is permanently removed. The “old man” does not resurrect.
No Longer Slaves to Sin
Romans 6:6 underscores this scandalous truth:
…knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin… (NASB)
And, again, in Galatians 2:20:
I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. (NASB)
We have been so beaten up in religion that states we have a sinful nature, that we have empowered something that has already been done away with.
Righteous Nature
You are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. (2 Corinthians 5:21).
As Christ is so are we in this world. (1 John 4:17).
Your sanctification is complete because Jesus has become our wisdom, righteousness, and our sanctification. (1 Corinthians 1:30).
What we struggle with are the mindsets, programs, strongholds, and habits that are part of a predilection to sin, but not nature. This is referred to as the “deeds of the flesh”. (Romans 7:17, 19; Romans 8:13) This is where we do what we do not want to do and do not do what we want to do. It is the state where we do not know who we really are, and do not understand what was really done on the cross for us.
This is an identity and mindset problem – not a nature problem. This is good news because we can overcome identity issues and mindsets!
We do not need to die daily. This is a reference to Paul’s life literally being threatened daily – not a sin nature issue. (1 Corinthians 15:31, look at the context)
Everything We Need
God’s word says that everything we need is released by the knowledge of Him!
For His divine power has bestowed on us [absolutely] everything necessary for [a dynamic spiritual] life and godliness, through [a] true and personal knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. -1 Peter 1:3 (AMPC)
1 Peter 1 goes on to say that, through His promises, we can share in His divine nature:
For by these He has bestowed on us His precious and magnificent promises [of inexpressible value], so that by them you may escape from the immoral freedom that is in the world because of disreputable desire, and become sharers of the divine nature. -1 Peter 1:4 (AMPC)
This is why we are righteous and are of the nature of Christ right now! (2 Corinthians 5:21, 1 John 4:17)
We were created in the image and likeness of God and carry His glory. (Genesis 1:26 – 27; Colossians 1:27) This is truly a scandalous gospel!
To keep us from falling for a new-age-like heresy of godhood, we need to remember that although we are of His substance, we are created beings and all of this was secured through Christ’s performance – not ours!
So, how do we manifest all this glory?
That is an exciting topic that deserves its’ own focus to do it justice.

This is truly amazing! do you have clue how long I have been in churches? years….this is a horrible horrible crying shame sooooo many people have been duped out of a divine life with Christ and God our Father due to deception! Only the last maybe year have I really heard that our sin nature was still in us but dead…not absolutely taken completely away, and that we had everyday to die to the old man so the new man could live. No wonder I have been so dead and lifeless, dealing with depression and so much! Jesus Life will not operate where there is discord, and confusion. He is only truth. He kept telling me to come to the foot of the cross, and I kept telling him I surrender to his Lordship but up til this morning he said the same thing and I was just beside myself not understanding what he was talking about. After I got in my email and began reading this I heard the song in my spirit….AT THE CROSS AT THE CROSS WHERE I FIRST SAW THE LIGHT AND THE BURDENS OF MY HEART ROLLED AWAYYYYYYYY IT WAS THERE BY FAITH I RECEIVED MY SIGHT AND NOW I AM HAPPY ALLLLL THE DAY!!!! GLORRRRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY TEARS TERS TEARS TEARS!!!! THANKYOU
