Unstoppable – Part 2: Triumphing in the Battle

In my previous blog, I started to unpack the very real truth that you: because of your union with Christ, you are unstoppable. This is the truth that surpasses all of the trials coming against you. It is a truth so sweeping, that God wants to sweep you right into the experience of its reality- right where you are.

So, let’s unpack this further.

Triumph in The Midst of The Battle

The Apostle Paul had an incredible revelation of the reality of our triumph through our union with Christ that has already been accomplished. In 2 Corinthians 2:14 (TPT), He wrote:

14 God always makes his grace visible[a] in Christ, who includes us as partners of his endless triumph.[b] Through our yielded lives he spreads[c] the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere we go.

Christ’s endless triumph is our triumph. Our lives are yielded as we allow Him to convince us of what He has accomplished for us, who He really is and who we really are. As we connect to the reality of our sonship/daughtership, we are empowered to be led by His Spirit in how we think, perceive and what we do. (Romans 8:15) The sons of God are led by the Spirit of God. (Romans 8:14)

God’s Sons and Daughters Overcome

God has such a premium value for His sons and daughters that He literally partners with us in Christs triumph. As a partner, your triumph in what is coming against you happens as you focus on what God is saying about you and your situation. This battle is a battle for what we believe. Ephesians 6:14-18 (TPT) says:

14 Put on truth as a belt to strengthen you to stand in triumph. Put on holiness as the protective armor that covers your heart. 15 Stand on your feet alert, then you’ll always be ready to share the blessings of peace. 16 In every battle, take faith as your wrap-around shield, for it is able to extinguish the blazing arrows coming at you from the Evil One![q] 17–18 Embrace the power of salvation’s full deliverance, like a helmet to protect your thoughts from lies. And take the mighty razor-sharp Spirit-sword[r] of the spoken Word of God.

Your Victory Stance

Let’s unpack how you take your stand.

God’s truth about Who He is, who you are in Him, and what He accomplished can literally strengthen you to stand (v. 14). You have been made holy. You are His righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21) because of what Christ did. The word literally says He is your sanctification, so this is an unveiling of a completed process. (1 Corinthians 1:30)

Because of that, there is no condemnation in Christ (Romans 8:1), but the enemy of our souls will accuse us of our flaws to try to separate us from Christ. (Revelation 12:10) If he can do that, he can overwhelm us. But God says there is nothing that can separate us from Him and His love. (Romans 8:35-39)

It is here that you take your stand in God’s truth, with your shoes of the gospel of peace, the helmet of salvation, and the shield of faith. (Ephesians 6:14 –18)

Enforcing Your Victory

The accuser, however you understand it/him to be, will tempt you with discouragement, and lies about who you are, who God is, and separation from God.

Knowing what God says in His word and speaking that word out loud is your one offensive weapon – the sword of the spirit. (Ephesians 6:18) When he comes at you with thoughts of defeat, destruction, and accusation, you can take those thoughts captive and make them obedient to what God says.

4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:4, KJV)

Disciplining Your Thought Life

Because of the way we are neurologically wired by God, we cannot maintain a thought if we are speaking out an opposing thought. So, if the thought comes into your mind that you “will never be able to overcome a sin habit”, you can speak out your mouth that “I am awakening to the righteousness God has made me so I don’t have to sin.” (2 Corinthians 5:21, 1 Corinthians 15:34) Doing so will cause your thoughts to shift and you will literally reprogram your mind to think in line with the truth of God.

Try this out with a silly exercise.

Think of a green dog and get the image in your mind.  Now, say out loud pink elephant.

What happened? You thought of a pink elephant, didn’t you!

This works when you combat a lie thought with speaking out the truth.

The more you practice this, the stronger you will get!

Join me for my next blog, where I will help you grasp the truth of you being unstoppable in your union with Christ more deeply rooted in your heart!

You can do this! I am standing with you!

Love,

Catherine

Thank you for sharing. I am reminded that I am victorious and those lies wrapped in thoughts are not more powerful than the mind of Christ in me. I am a victorious conqueror.
