Unstoppable – Part 3: Fulfilling Your Destiny

Hi Guys,

In my last 2 blogs, we have been delving into the truth that, because of your union with Christ, you are unstoppable.

If you need a minute to play a quick game catch up on this five-part blog series, you can click here to read part one and here to read part two.

You Have a Destiny to Fulfill

In his letter to the Ephesians, Paul says we are His workmanship; His poem to the world through our union with Christ.

10 We have become his poetry,[a] a re-created people that will fulfill the destiny he has given each of us, for we are joined to Jesus, the Anointed One. Even before we were born, God planned in advance our destiny and the good works[b] we would do to fulfill it! (Ephesians 2:10, TPT)

Furthermore, it is because of this great truth that we will fulfill the destiny God designed before we were born!

How to Fulfill God’s Destiny for You

Last week, we discussed taking thoughts captive. The purpose of doing so was to help us think in line with what God says about us and our destiny. This takes a lot of discipline. So, what will help us be successful with it?

We need to fix our eyes on Jesus and keep them fixed! This empowers us not to cave in to the pressures of life.

Run Your Race

1 As for us, we have all of these great witnesses[a] who encircle us like clouds. So we must let go of every wound that has pierced us[b] and the sin we so easily fall into.[c] Then we will be able to run life’s marathon race[d] with passion and determination, for the path has been already marked out before us.[e]

2 We look away from the natural realm and we fasten our gaze onto Jesus who birthed faith within us and who leads us forward into faith’s perfection.[f] His example is this: Because his heart was focused on the joy of knowing that you would be his,[g] he endured the agony of the cross and conquered its humiliation,[h] and now sits exalted at the right hand of the throne of God!

3 So consider carefully how Jesus faced such intense opposition from sinners who opposed their own souls,[i] so that you won’t become worn down and cave in under life’s pressures.  – Hebrews 12: 1–3 (TPT)

Hebrews 12:1-3  is such a rich text. In fact, I encourage you to camp out with it to receive more revelation that will empower you to run your race.

Takeaways From Hebrews 12:1-3

Here are a few points I would like to hit on:

  1.   We all have wounds that have compromised us. We must let them go. That means we must forgive ourselves and others and receive healing in our hearts for the hurts.
  2.   We all have sinned. This also means we need to awaken to the truth that we have been made the righteousness of God in Christ (1 Corinthians 15:24, 2 Corinthians 5:21) so that we are not sinners and sinning is contrary to our new completed nature in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17, Romans 6:6).

As we do these things, we can run our race with passion and determination. The path has already been marked out for us. (Hebrews 12:1)

Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of Faith

We are to look away from the seen realm that tempts us with the lies that say we are not who God says we are, God is not who He says He is, and He has not accomplished what He did. All of these stem from the foundational lie that we are separate from God!

When we insist on looking unto Jesus, He, Who birthed faith in us, will lead us into the perfection of completion of that faith. (Hebrews 12:2) This is crucial to running and completing our race well!

I want you to meditate on these things and we will pick up where we left off with the next blog!

I am standing with you for YOUR race!

Love,

Catherine
