Hi Guys,
In the last three blogs, we have been delving into the truth that, because of your union with Christ, you are unstoppable. If you missed them, you can go back through them now.
Click here for part one, here for part two, and here for part three.
Fulfilling Your Destiny
As a review, it is clear from the word of God that each person was crafted as a work of art to do great things because of our union with Christ.
10 We have become his poetry,[a] a re-created people that will fulfill the destiny he has given each of us, for we are joined to Jesus, the Anointed One. Even before we were born, God planned in advance our destiny and the good works[b] we would do to fulfill it! (Ephesians 2:10, TPT)
Connecting with who you have been re-created to be in Christ, and His plans for you are crucial to fulfilling what God has called you to do.
God is For You!
Romans 8 talks about God championing His kids through His union with us:
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? 37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. -Romans 8:31-32, 37-38 (NIV)
Those That Have Gone Before You Are for You!
Not only is God for us, but we have a great cloud of witnesses that are for us as well! They KNOW our all–surpassing victory in Christ and are standing for us.
12 As for us, we have all of these great witnesses[a] who encircle us like clouds. So we must let go of every wound that has pierced us[b] and the sin we so easily fall into.[c] Then we will be able to run life’s marathon race[d] with passion and determination, for the path has been already marked out before us.[e] -Hebrews 12:1-3 (TPT)
Looking Unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of Faith
Last week, we highlighted keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus as our example leading us into faith’s perfection.
2 We look away from the natural realm and we fasten our gaze onto Jesus who birthed faith within us and who leads us forward into faith’s perfection.[f] His example is this: Because his heart was focused on the joy of knowing that you would be his,[g] he endured the agony of the cross and conquered its humiliation,[h] and now sits exalted at the right hand of the throne of God! – Hebrews 12: 1–2 (TPT)
Hebrews 12:3 underscores this – it is not just knowing, but careful consideration or meditation so you can endure:
3 So consider carefully how Jesus faced such intense opposition from sinners who opposed their own souls,[i] so that you won’t become worn down and cave in under life’s pressures. – Hebrews 12:3 (TPT)
Hebrews 12:4 puts this in context. None of us have had the extreme of temptation that Christ did. Therefore, if He was able to resist through the power of Holy Spirit, you and I can resist the lesser trials through the power of that same triumphant Spirit.
4 After all, you have not yet reached the point of sweating blood[j] in your opposition to sin. – Hebrews 12: 4 (TPT)
You Can Do This
He is saying WE CAN DO THIS! YOU can do this!
