In the last four blogs, we have been delving into the truth that, because of your union with Christ, you are unstoppable. We are wrapping up this series in today’s blog by taking a look at how God is training us to be His champions.
Let’s Review
Need to catch up? Click here for part one, here for part two, here for part three, and here for part four.
To review:
- We are created as God’s workmanship with a great destiny. (Ephesians 2:10)
- Our trials can work for us, revealing the glory of God in us as, through the power of Holy Spirit in our union with Him, we look at the unseen realm that is greater than the trials of the seen realm. (2 Corinthians 4:7-10, 17-18)
- God is Love and Love never fails. (1 John 4:8, 1 Cor. 13:4)
- We can partake of Christ’s triumph as through our union with Him. (2 Corinthians 2:14)
- The battle is in our minds. We can stand and have victory there as we discipline our thought life and speak the word. (Ephesians 6:14-18, 2 Corinthians 10:4)
- We need to have ministry for wounds and we need to deal with sin issues so that we can run our race. (Hebrews 12:1, 1 Corinthians 15:24, 2 Corinthians 5:17, 21)
- We are to look away from the seen realm that tempts us with the lies that say we are not who God says we are, God is not who He says He is, and He has not fully accomplished what He did on the cross. (Hebrews 12:2)
- As we carefully meditate on these things, we are empowered by them to fulfill the destiny God has for us. (Hebrews 12:3-4)
God Disciplines His Sons and Daughters to Bring out the Glory inside of Us
Our training and discipline in Christ is a crucial thing. Papa does this because He is perfect Love and a perfect Father, who delights in maturing His adored children. This discipline is proof that You are a delighted in child of God.
5 And have you forgotten his encouraging words spoken to you as his children? He said, “My child, don’t underestimate the value of the discipline and training of the Lord God, or get depressed when he has to correct you.[k] 6 For the Lord’s training of your life is the evidence of his faithful love.[l] And when he draws you to himself, it proves you are his delightful child.” -Hebrews 12:5-6
Getting Trained as a Champion Son/Daughter
Looking at the verses before, we learn that our training and discipline is all about overcoming wounds, resisting sin, and keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of faith. Focusing on these things will enable us to run the race set before us. (Hebrews 12:1-4) This is the stuff of champions and YOU, my dear brother/sister, are a champion in training to be a greater champion. (2 Corinthians 2:14) This is manifesting your sonship/daughtership. (Romans 8:14-15)
Our Attitude in the Training
The word tells us to fully embrace our correction in training as beloved sons and daughters because it proves that we are truly God’s authentic sons and daughters.
7 Fully embrace God’s correction as part of your training,[n] for he is doing what any loving father does for his children. For who has ever heard of a child who never had to be corrected?[o] 8 We all should welcome God’s discipline as the validation of authentic sonship. For if we have never once endured his correction it only proves we are strangers[p] and not sons. -Hebrews 12:7-8 (TPT)
The Fruit of Being Disciplined and Correction
Later, in Hebrews 12, we are told discipline, although it is not fun, yields character transformation, righteousness, peace, and strength.
11 Now all discipline[r] seems to be more pain than pleasure at the time, yet later it will produce a transformation of character, bringing a harvest of righteousness and peace[s] to those who yield to it.[t]
12 So be made strong even in your weakness by lifting up your tired hands in prayer and worship. And strengthen your weak knees,[u] 13 for as you keep walking forward on God’s paths[v] all your stumbling ways will be divinely healed! (Hebrews 12:11-12, TPT)
We need ALL of these things so that we can begin our race, run our race, and finish our race well. As we yield to this beautiful powerful work, we are manifested or unveiled as true sons and daughters. In addition, the seen realm is transformed more and more in line with heaven. (Romans 8: 16-24, Romans 12:2, Ephesians 2:10)
Wrapping Things Up
As I wrap up this series, I urge you to go back and meditate on all these things. You were made a poem to the world. You were made with a destiny. As you keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, yield to His work in you and through you, and follow Him as you operate out of your union with Him! As a result of all these things, you will fulfill your destiny!
To conclude, remember there is help for wherever you are in the process.
That being said, I encourage you to pick up and dive into my “Marked by Love” book. It carries an anointing to help you connect with God intimately so that you get all the help you need to run and finish your race!
YOU are UNSTOPPABLE!
Love,
Catherine
