My husband, Brian, and I like to watch cooking shows. It is amazing how the competition seems to grow with intensity. Brian, who runs several business lines, including a catering company, has witnessed firsthand the rigors of the culinary world. We like to joke about the trend for herb-infused this and spice-infused that. Infused is a big deal in the culinary world. According to merriam-webster.com, the word, “Infuse,” means:
to cause to be permeated with something (such as a principle or quality) that alters usually for the better.
Supernatural Infusion
Infusion of an herb or spice permeates the culinary creation, giving it a delectable improvement. How I love this concept in the context of God engaging with His creation. As Christ engages His creation, His flavors permeate us – altering us in delightful, powerful ways. Simply, as we abide in Him we look like Him and bear His fruit (John 15:5, Galatians 5:23-24, 2 Corinthians 3:18). He conforms us to His image (Romans 8:29), unveiling us from glory to glory – His glory in us unveiled (2 Corinthians 3:18, Colossians 1:27). While we are of His substance, made in His image, we also understand that humanity was made from the dust (Genesis 1:26). We require His breath/His animation (Genesis 2:7) to be alive, but also to live fully while we are alive. We need to be infused!
Ephesians 6:10 (TPT) says:
10 Now my beloved ones, I have saved these most important truths for last: Be supernaturally infused with strength through your life-union with the Lord Jesus. Stand victorious with the force of his explosive power flowing in and through you.
Supernatural Upgrades
Christ’s infusion or permeation with strength truly alters us for the better – a supernatural upgrade. It is an upgrade that unfolds through our life-union with Christ. The Spirit of Might released is greater than any energy drink or health cocktail! God literally upgrades us from death to life (Isaiah 11:2, Ephesians 3:16, Ephesians 1:19-20). Flowing from our life union with Christ, we can stand victorious. It is an explosive force flowing in and through us.
What do you need power infused in you for?
Healing? Youth renewal? Strength? Provision? Favor? Wisdom?…
Christ’s mission statement provides more insight. John 10:10 (TPT) says:
10 A thief has only one thing in mind—he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy. But I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect — life in its fullness until you overflow!
Supernatural Transformation
As the life of Christ permeates us, we overflow with life. We walk in abundance – more than we expect. All that life, that might, that power, that glory is already inside us! We do not have to strive to apprehend it or get to another level. Colossians 1:27 (TPT) says:
27 Living within you is the Christ who floods you with the expectation of glory! This mystery of Christ, embedded within us, becomes a heavenly treasure chest of hope filled with the riches of glory for his people, and God wants everyone to know it!
You are infused with Christ Himself. You have a treasure chest inside you! God wants ALL of us to know it! That means ALL people are included. How amazing! But it also gets very personal. God wants every part of ourselves to know it. The word, “know” here brings about the nuance of “recognizing and having thorough knowledge of.” Whatever we do not recognize or thoroughly know, we cannot fully partake in. In the places in our being where we have not awakened to the truth of Christ in us and what that means, we are not fully alive. This is why Holy Spirit in us is continually points us to Christ, the truth of who we are in Him, and how the unveiling of these truths bring transformation to the world. His passion is for the life and glory of Christ in us to fully be revealed and experienced!
Paul urged the Colossian church (Colossians 2:6-8, (TPT):
6 In the same way you received Jesus our Lord and Messiah by faith, continue your journey of faith, progressing further into your union with him! 7 Your spiritual roots go deeply into his life as you are continually infused with strength, encouraged in every way. For you are established in the faith you have absorbed and enriched by your devotion to him.
Your Turn, Experiencing God
Connecting with Him causes us to be infused with all that He is. We are infused with Love that never fails (Ephesians 3:16-17, 1 Corinthians 13:8). So, let’s take some time to do just that. Let’s turn our attention and affection to Christ within us.
Let me pray on your behalf:
“Papa/Jesus/Holy Spirit,
I thank You that You are always intimately close and available. It is Your heart to connect with Your kids. Help Your sons and daughters do just that right now. What do You want to infuse in them?”
Beloved, take some time to rest and receive. Tune your spiritual senses to Him. Let yourself relax and let Love speak in those words, thoughts, pictures, feelings, impressions, knowings, or other manifestations. Enjoy your break with Him! You may want to journal for a while. God has much to reveal to you and infuse you with!
