Beloved, do you realize you were made for Love? Before your first heartbeat, before the world tried to define you, or pain shaped you, you were dreamt of and crafted by Love Himself. You are not an accident. You are an expression of divine longing—God’s longing for you. Love breathed you into being so that you might live in continual communion with Him.
So many of us have spent years striving to earn what was already given by God—acceptance, belonging, worth, and significance. But you were not made to earn love; you were made to experience it as an ongoing reality. You were created for encounter. And in that encounter, your soul finds what it was designed for—intimacy with God that heals, transforms, overflows, and empowers.
And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. – 1 John 4:16, NIV
When scripture says God is Love, it is describing both His nature and your design. His heartbeat is the blueprint of your identity. To be a child of God is to be loved—and to love in return. This is what it means to be fully alive and fully human.
Formed by Love, Reformed by Encounter
God’s longing is not distant or abstract. It is deeply personal. The One Who formed galaxies also formed YOU and created you for intimate communion. He knows the rhythm of your breath, the sound of your laughter, and every tear you have ever had—shed and unshed. He is not waiting for you to become more spiritual before He draws near. He already is one with you dwelling in you.
To be made for love means that every part of your being—spirit, soul, and body—was crafted for intimacy with God. You were wired for presence. And when that presence feels far away, something in us aches. That ache isn’t wrong; it’s holy. It’s a homing signal calling you back to encounter.
You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. – Psalm 16:11, NIV
Our healing doesn’t come from effort; it comes from presence bringing Truth in the inmost parts that sets free. Love heals what information alone cannot reach. Information can inform the mind, but only intimacy transforms the heart.

God’s Longing for You
Here’s a truth that can undo a lifetime of striving: God doesn’t just tolerate you—He longs for you. He is not indifferent, and He has never been withholding. Love doesn’t wait to be persuaded, He already is; Love pursues.
This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son… – 1 John 4:10, NIV
Redemption flows from this truth. The cross was not a transaction to change God’s mind about you; it was a revelation to change your mind about Him. It displayed the heart of a God Who would rather die than live without you.
When you awaken to that longing—to the fact that God’s deepest desire is communion with you—something softens inside. Fear starts to unravel. The compulsion to perform loosens. You begin to realize that intimacy with God is not the reward of perfection but the restoration of belonging where you have always belonged! God is home!
Receiving Before Responding
In John 13:34, Jesus said:
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. – John 13:34, ESV
Notice the sequence—He loves first. We receive, and then we release. We were never designed to manufacture love; we were designed to receive, live from, and mirror it. When we skip the receiving, we end up offering the world a dry well.
To love others “as I have loved you” requires abiding in that love—abiding in Love Himself. It’s a flow, not a formula. You can’t give away what you haven’t received, but as you receive, you become a living fountain. This is the essence of identity in Christ—you live from fullness, not for it.
If you’ve ever questioned your worthiness to receive, pause and read Do You Deserve God’s Love? It will remind your heart that worthiness is His gift, not your achievement.
Love Heals
Love heals not by ignoring pain but by embracing it. Every wound is a doorway for deeper encounter. Spiritual healing is not just about relief; it’s about restoration. As Love Himself moves through your story, Herewrites shame with tenderness and replaces fear with belonging.
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. – Psalm 147:3, NIV
Love doesn’t minimize our suffering; He sits with us in it. The same love that held Jesus on the cross holds you in your process. That’s why healing is never far away—it’s as close as His embrace.
When Love heals, He also reawakens. You begin to see through Love’s eyes—your worth, your purpose, your divine reflection. You start recognizing that others, too, are made for Love. Compassion becomes a natural outgrowth because it reflects who you are at your core, in the image and likeness of Love.

Created for Encounter
Encounter is not a once-in-a-lifetime event; it’s the ongoing engagement with Love Himself. Hearing from and connecting with God is not reserved for mystics or ministers—it’s the birthright of every child of God.
Intimacy with God is cultivated through awareness and intentionality. It’s learning to turn your attention and affection toward the One Who never turns away. You can sense Him in scripture, in worship, in stillness, in laughter, and in the quiet tears you don’t have words for, in the world all around you…
Try this:
- Get still. Put a hand over your heart and breathe slowly.
- Ask: “Jesus, where would You like to love me first?”
- Notice what surfaces—a word, an image, a scripture, a sense of nearness, a knowing.
- Receive without arguing. Thank Him. Let His love settle into that moment.
- Respond with one small step as He leads (journal it, take a walk with Him, forgive yourself, or text someone a blessing).
This is what it means to live created for encounter—to weave awareness of His love into the fabric of your day.
Living From the Overflow
When you realize you were made for Love, life shifts from striving to overflow. You no longer love people to earn approval; you love because you’ve been filled to the brim! This is how heaven leaks into earth—through hearts so saturated by love that it spills over naturally.
As you experience this, three things happen:
- You rest. Anxiety gives way to assurance.
- You reflect. The image of Love within you becomes visible to others.
- You radiate. You start seeing miracles in everyday moments—softened hearts, restored relationships, unexpected peace.
That is what happens when you live in the flow of intimacy with God. YOU become the message.
