What is Heaven Like?

What is heaven like?

Heaven is a fascinating topic shrouded in mystery.  Acts 7:49-50 (TPT) says:

49 ‘Heaven is my throne room and the earth

is but a footstool for my feet.

How could you possibly build a house

that could contain me?’ says the Lord Yahweh.

‘And where could you find a place where I could live?

50 Don’t you know that it is my hands

that have built my house, not yours?’

The Abode of God

The word, “heaven” in the Greek is Ouranos, which is the abode of God and other heavenly beings. God also made His house or abode in us – heaven is in us! We are not trying to get there from here. Heaven is in us because Christ is in us. We are already seated in Heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6). Every spiritual blessing in those Heavenly places has been lavished upon us. This means we have already been blessed – it’s all inside of us, (Ephesians 1:3) stored up to be unveiled as our identity is unveiled.

This is what it means to work out our salvation from the inside out (Philippians 2:12). This is Heaven manifesting on earth, which is what Jesus said to pray (Matthew 6:10). Moreover, this revealing of Heaven on earth is one reason why creation is groaning for the manifestation of the sons of God. The redemption of all creation depends upon the sons of God being unveiled. Ephesians 8:19 – 22 (TPT) says:

19 The entire universe is standing on tiptoe, yearning to see the unveiling of God’s glorious sons and daughters! 20For against its will the universe itself has had to endure the empty futility resulting from the consequences of human sin. But now, with eager expectation, 21 all creation longs for freedom from its slavery to decay and to experience with us the wonderful freedom coming to God’s children. 22 To this day we are aware of the universal agony and groaning of creation, as if it were in the contractions of labor for childbirth.

Finding Home

We long for heaven because we long to experience the home our Father is. Ephesians 8:23-24 TPT goes on to say:

23 And it’s not just creation. We who have already experienced the firstfruits of the Spirit also inwardly groan as we passionately long to experience our full status as God’s sons and daughters—including our physical bodies being transformed. 24 For this is the hope of our salvation.

The truth is that we long for home, but we are already home (Ephesians 1:4)! We are home in Christ and in the heart of Father God. We have the honor of awakening to our original home.

Let’s take some time to soak in that.

Holy Spirit/Papa/Jesus, help Your daughters/sons awaken to being at home in You. What do You want them to know?

Now let yourself relax and let Love speak those words, thoughts, pictures, feelings, impressions, knowings, or other manifestations. Jot down anything you receive, however small, even if you are not sure if it is God. He lives inside of you, remember, so sometimes His voice sounds like your voice in your thoughts! Enjoy yourself! As you get something, share what you have received. It will minister to so many! I would love to hear, too! Let me know what God shares with you!

Love,

Catherine
