How to Walk in Peace

How to Walk In Peace

The word of God says that grace and peace are multiplied through the knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord (1 Peter 2:1). But how many of us are having a hard time connecting the reality of this in the difficult places of our lives? There is no condemnation for this very human struggle and happily there is vast help. Let’s dive in to get the help we need!

God the Source of Everything

God is the Source of everything. Regarding Jesus, the Word says:

17 He existed before anything was made, and now everything finds completion in him. – Colossians 1:16-17 (TPT)

Everything is Released by Revelation

Everything is released by the revelatory knowledge of God. God’s word says:

2 May grace and perfect peace cascade over you as you live in the rich knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.

3 Everything we could ever need for life and complete devotion to God has already been deposited in us by his divine power. For all this was lavished upon us through the rich experience of knowing him who has called us by name and invited us to come to him through a glorious manifestation of his goodness. 4 As a result of this, he has given you magnificent promises that are beyond all price, so that through the power of these tremendous promises you can experience partnership with the divine nature, by which you have escaped the corrupt desires that are of the world. – 2 Peter: 1-4 (TPT)

There is no shortage or lack. The more we study God, meditate on His word and engage with Him in prayer and encounter, the more the reality of Who He is and what He accomplished for us cascades over us in lavish abundance.

Tasting and Seeing the Goodness of God

Most of has have read the scripture that says:

8 O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. – Psalm 34:8 (KJV)

Isn’t it interesting that God invites us to engage with Him in the sense of taste in order to see? As we discussed last time, the communion meal with Christ is a graphic intimate invitation to practice experience our ongoing unlimited union with Him.

This is brought out beautifully in The Passion Translation’s version of Psalm 34:8:

8 Drink deeply of the pleasures of this God. Experience for yourself the joyous mercies he gives to all who turn to hide themselves in him.

Such pleasures include vast hope, uncontainable joy, and perfect (or matured) peace. This is brought out further in the following choice scripture:

13 Now may God, the inspiration and fountain of hope, fill you to overflowing with uncontainable joy and perfect peace as you trust in him. And may the power of the Holy Spirit continually surround your life with his super-abundance until you radiate with hope! – Romans 15:13 (TPT)

Moreover Psalm 16:10 says:

11 You will show me the path of life;

In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. – Psalm 16:10 (KJV)

Partaking of Christ

So, all of this fullness of joy and pleasures forevermore, is an invitation to partake of Christ through practicing His presence. It is a Spirit empowered invitation that you were wired to participate and enjoy. He is your life-source!

Meditate on all these truths. As you do so, they will become more and more real to you!

Love,

Catherine
